Kanye Escorted Out of the Grammy's?

By: Arzo Yusuf
Kanye West and Bianca Censori were said to have been escorted out of the Grammy's. Those that tuned in or kept up on social saw the awards, performances, speeches and of course the fashions on the red carpet. The most iconic moment of the night was when Bianca Censori pulled her completely see through dress down as if she was practicing modesty.
Critics on social media were disgusted at Kanye and many advocating that Censori is captive and needs the publics’ help to get her freedom. That could be true. But what I know 100% to be true is that, although Kanye is known as a musician, he’s actually an artist, a creator. What he did do, was a live creative fashion performance. This is an art exhibit. He brought an art exhibit to the Grammy’s.
My interpretation of the art, is dualistic. It could be one or the other or both simultaneously. The one view is that of what society has forced women to be in order to garner attention. The commodity of attention is rooted in a lack of love. When we experienced a lack of love in childhood, we grow to become adults that lack self love. We constantly abandon ourselves. Then we become caricatures of what other people want us to be and we become it for their approval and get a hit of attention, our supplement for love. It’s a crutch. In this narrative, it explains the way society exploits sex using women for profit.
The other view is the pedestalization of the The Divine Feminine or The Goddess as she’s better known. To display her in her most raw form, her form from nature, from God, in an effort to showcase her utter beauty, softness, fragility, deliciousness and femininity. Censori's breasts were magnificent, perfectly plump, portraying nurture and sustenance. Kanye stepped aside so that the world could admire her shining in the light in all her glory. In this narrative, The Divine Feminine is to be worshipped. With Kanye in his Gospel era, this narrative could be true. In a way, he’s revealing God as The Divine Feminine.
